What does a dog do when you trod on its foot?

Hello!

Jedziemy!

  1. When I saw that awful spider, I yelped/shrieked!
  2. When I didn't like what my boss said, I turned around and screamed/mumbled something under my breath.
  3. There I was listening to an old, furious guy who was muttering/spluttering about something with anger.
  4. She was so scared that she couldn't speak; she was only able to stutter/shout that she had been assaulted.
  5. I saw Tomek whistling/murmuring sweet nothings into Marzena's ear.
No i jak poszło? Piszcie odpowiedzi w komentarzach :)

    1. Hello Jan! Thanks for your response!
All your answers are just perfect! Were you using a dictionary or are you THAT good? :)
Where are you from? Why do you visit this blog? Are you trying to learn English?

  2. Yeah, unfourtunately, I had to use a dictionary :)
I am from Łódź. I came across this blog when I was passing my Matura exam, but I haven't wrote here anything. I visit this blog because you write interesting posts, not strict grammar and vocabulary as teachers in school, but you make it in very clever way for me. Now I am studying English Philology and I thought that I have to make some further steps, so here I am, writing to you and learning some new skills. :)

    1. Thanks Jan. I've been to Łódź and I know a few people from there. A couple of years ago I even had the pleasure of teaching there, walking down Piotrkowska and having a lovely ride in a rickshaw :) I visited your Manufaktura too.

Congratulations on Studying English Philology! Which subject is the worst for you? :)

  3. What do you think about Łódź? You liked the city or not? :)
Thank you :) I think that fonetics are the worst and I have problems with History of Great Britain. I am the person who find it hard to learn history.

    1. I liked Łódź although I spent only a few days there. I was teaching English to Stora Enso workers there. As for phonetics... I have to tell you that, among other subjects, I was teaching Descriptive Grammar to students in my town as well as British Culture. I didn't do History of GB but I think learning it can be real fun! The history of this country is very interesting!
