Zdający: Right, Ian. So you have to prepare a presentation about Polish youth.
Egzaminujący: Exactly. Will you help me, please?
Zdający: I know you need some information on the topic. Well, let's start from their interests. I'd say that Polish youth are interested in a whole range of things. I think many teens are interested in various sports. They often spend their time playing basketball, volleyball or football after school. Many have other hobbies such as cycling, jogging or looking after pets. Others love spending time partying or playing computer games, but there are also those who are keen on collecting things or studying their favorite subjects!
Egzaminujący: I see. Thank you. What about other things such as contacts with their peers.
Zdający: Oh, I know that friendships are very important for them just as getting to know other people their age. They spend a lot of time together at school and after school either learning, partying or going out.
Egzaminujący: Lovely! Can you tell me a bit more about the places where those young people meet most often?
Zdający: Yes, they meet mostly in pubs, cafes or at one another's homes.
Egzaminujący: OK, it's clear now.
Zdający: Now, foreign languages. I have to say that although schools teach such languages as English, German, Russian, French or Spanish, foreign languages are not an asset among Polish teenagers. Of course, most know some foreign language but their communicative skills leave a lot to be desired...
Egzaminujący: Oh, really? I'm afraid I can't agree with you here. Listening to you speaking, I have a quite opposite impression!
Zdający: Perhaps I am just an exception to the rule. Anyway, typical dress. Polish teenagers are totally free as to what they want to wear and they often choose a style that best reflects their individualism. Some wear baggy jeans, while others elegant shirts and skirts. It's hard to say more on this issue since there is such a great variety of styles.
Egzaminujący: What are the typical problems concerning relations with parents and teachers?
Zdający: Well, as you can imagine the problems are pretty typical of the young. So when it comes to parents we often rebel against the truths they keep telling us, we also try to demonstrate our point of view and we show anger if we are not understood! I guess the same is with teachers but probably less demonstrative since we don't want to get in their bad books too much!
Egzaminujący: I see. What about the contribution of the disabled in school life?
Zdający: Yes, they're as much involved as they can be. They are not excluded from taking active part in school life! Disability is no obstacle here at all!
Egzaminujący: OK, I got it. Thank you so much for your help. Now, I have a feeling I know much more about Polish youth. Thanks again!
