Which cake is your favorite?

Hi there!
I guess everybody has a sweet tooth (słabość do słodkości) to some extent. Today I have four words connected with cake types. Take a look...

And here are the names:

  1. ginger cake (piernik)
  2. gateau (ciasto z kremem i bakaliami)
  3. sponge (biszkopt)
  4. Swiss roll (rogalik z konfiturą)
My fave is ginger cake. I could have it each day. Its smell and flavor are just gorgeous! I love when it's moist and hot :) This is the way I like it made... I myself add a spoon of honey and raisins too...

Which do you like most? Why?

  1. I prefer a gateau (french word!) because this type of cake can be used as a strange kind of weapon during a party...

    2. redass is not this what you have in your mind. It's short form of redone assassin = goodman:)

    3. I see... LOL... my first idea was better, wasn't it? :) Why did you say 'goodman' if it means one who murders premeditatedly, one who secretly murders another?

  2. Gingerbread is also my favourite! It reminds me of Netherlands. They really like it there. I was really surprised when i saw for the first time my friend eating it for breakfast with butter on top. They can eat it any time of the day in many different forms( covered with chocolat, with candised lemons, oranges, with beer, butter, etc.) And... it tastes like Christmas!:)

    1. Welcome to the club then! I have been to Amsterdam only for a few hours... and at the airport... Once I had guests from Holland but there was no mention of ginger cake in our conversations. Anyhow, there really is something in ginger cakes... I wouldn't have it with butter though...

    2. I spend 2-3 months a year in the Netherlands but I visited Amsterdam only a few times, and only for tourism purpose. I always found myself on long walks just admiring it's canalside architecture. There are lovely little streets and beautiful curtyards around every corner. I think it's a must-see place;)

    3. Wow.. 2-3 months... That's cool. Do you work during this time or do you spend it walking and admiring your place of living. Anyhow, I will go there for sure one day.

    6. There are many worth visiting places there.Personally I can reccomend Nijmegen. There are so many places to explore(Valkhof Park with Barbarossa ruins, Museum het Valkhof, De Stratem Akerstoren-the road workers tower, Velorama-the bicycle museum, and more). I like going there in the summer because throughout the summer months there's lots going on (Summer festival, 4 day march, etc). If you go there with your family you won't get bored. It has different kinds of sport centers( swimming, climbing etc), entertainin clubs(bowling, karting, lasergaming). Everyone will find sth for themselves there:)

BTW:Sorry for not replying sooner. Been busy.

    7. Thanks anniemal! Holland seems inviting... What about the prices? Is Holland expensive to stay in? Or I should ask how much more expensive is it compared to other western EU countries?
