Czas: 5 minut
Egzaminator: Read the task and think about what you'd like to say. You have about a minute to prepare.
[Po upływie około minuty, jeśli będzie taka potrzeba, egzaminator wbija się z tekstem następującym...]
Egzaminator: Can you start now?
[Teraz masz około dwóch minut, żeby uporać się z dwoma zadankami. Po pierwsze wybierasz jakiś obrazek z zestawu i uzasadniasz swój wybór. Po drugie wyjaśniasz dlaczego odrzucasz pozostałe obrazki.]
Zdający: So I have to choose one of the suggested extracurricular (dodatkowe) sports classes. Wow! Let's see what I can choose between here... In the first picture I see swimming classes and in the other some kickboxing workout (trening). Well, let me think which of these appeals more to me... In fact both options seem attractive. I am passionately fond of (pasjonuję się) sport and if I could, I'd choose both classes. But since I have to choose just one, I guess, I'd go for swimming... Why swimming? Well... first of all this way of exercising gives the ability to work my body without severe impact to my skeletal system and since occasionally suffer from backache, this would be an ideal solution for me. Besides I could easily develop my muscles, which - as you may guess - means a lot to a teenager. Finally swimming offers the body a wide range of motion that helps joints (stawy) and ligaments (wiązadło) stay loose and flexible. There are other aspects, but let me now say a few sentences why I'd reject the other alternative...
I am not that much interested in martial arts (sztuki walki). I am a very peaceful (pokojowy) person and kickboxing with all its kicking (kopanie) and punching (walenie pięściami) is not really for me. Of course, I know that practicing punches and kicks doesn't mean I have to go and fight, but still I'm not very keen on (nie przepadam) this way of getting fit (nabieranie kondycji).
[Teraz przeczhodzimy do drugiej części tego egzaminu, w której egzaminator zadaje ci dwa pytania. Na tę część zadania masz około dwóch minut.]
Egzaminator: Thank you. I will now ask you two questions.
1. What other new sports could students do at school?
Well... I think virtually all sports could be done at school provided there is money to organize all necesssary facilities, etc. But since I am a down-to-earth person, I think schools could offer something for each season of the year. For example in fall schools could encourage people to practice boys' soccer, cross country, field hockey, tennis, volleyball, or even golf. I believe that many students would love to have more of basketball, swimming, maybe wrestling or bowling. And spring is perfect for baseball, softball, track and field and lacrosse. Unfortunately Polish schools are so poor that we can all but dream about such a wide range of classes...
2. Why do you think some students dislike sports at school?
I presume those students simply don't understand how important doing sports is. I understand that some of them don't feel comfortable as they think sports is not their strong side and feel less able than others, but still thanks to sports classes students can stay healthy and fit. Doing sports also improves concentration and helps your mind develop. Besides, it decreases anxiety and stress. To my mind, the advantages really outweigh the disadvantages, especially when lots of young people tend to spend more and more time in fron of their PCs...
Egzaminator: Thank you. This is the end of the exam.
