The ball is in the game! Thousands if not millions of people were watching the first opening game of Euro 2012 yesterday! Poland were playing Greece and... Whoa! What a match that was! A real Greek drama full of unexpected twists...
I guess most football fans' guru was Borussia Dortmund's striker Robert Lewandowski, and it was him who scored us the first goal with a monster header from the left of the box.
Just take a look what happened in the 17th minute!
What a beauty!
Unfortunately, our national happiness didn't last long... As Salpingidis scored an equalizer for Greece in the 51st minute... :(
I also need to add that it's a great pity that Szczęsny (from Arsenal) had to be shown the red card. However, Tytoń will be a good replacement in the goal I believe, which is what he proved yesterday... The players in defense Perguis, Wasilewski, Boenisch and Piszczek also did a great job. It would be unfair not to mention Obraniak, the attacker.
Anyhow, for some reason the Polish team lost their power in the second half of the match. Maybe the high level of humidity at the roof-closed stadium was the reason... I know it may sound a bit ridiculous though... The Polish team left the locker rooms rather dissatisfied as they, and whole Poland, had hoped for a better result, to be frank. Anyhow, let's be proud of this as we still don't know what to expects with our next encounter with Russia next week... I have some mixed feelings having watched how they played against Czech yesterday... The championship is underway...
What are you feelings after the Poland Greece match? What are your predictions when it comes to the Poland Russia match?
